I went to a place where the bus stops had nothing to indicate the bus numbers passing by. The only thing I noticed was that the buses had different colours at the bottom. Orange, Purple and Blue. I like the orange one best. And somehow I think their buses look like they’re a bit squashed up. so this is my exaggerated interpretation (although it falls short of what I have in my brain
). Having not drawn for a couple of months, it feels kinda foreign. Gotta get back into it.

Sometimes, in some mad moments, I make things randomly. A different kind of art? Above, a little felt handiwork for my camera.

Pig was saying the other day it drawn on her that likes to look at ‘good looking’ people. People with sharp features, deep lines, communicative eyes.. looking at this Ah Pek from Taiwan, we couldn’t agree more he fits perfectly in our list of good looking people. Just to share a pic of good looking expressive strangers.

It was one of those days where important people congregate at my cubicle to think deep and hard on work matters…lotsa looking down and reflection, “hmmm”, “how ah”, “actually..”, flipping of papers.. I was involved in the discussion and was taking down notes on rough paper as these important people discuss on and on… until I started speed sketched my nu lao ban (who happens to be one of the better good looking bosses around) and tadah! A blury camera phone capture of doodle showing lady boss at work :p

“Life Is Wonderful”
by Jason Mraz
It takes a crane to build a crane
It takes two floors to make a story
It takes an egg to make a hen
It takes a hen to make an egg
There is no end to what I’m saying
It takes a thought to make a word
And it takes some words to make an action
It takes some work to make it work
It takes some good to make it hurt
It takes some bad for satisfaction
La la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Al la la la la
It takes a night to make it dawn
And it takes a day to make you yawn brother
And it takes some old to make you young
It takes some cold to know the sun
It takes the one to have the other
And it takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
It takes some fears to make you trust
It takes those tears to make it rust
It takes the dust to have it polished
Ha la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is so full of
Ah la la la la la la life is so rough
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is our love
Ah la la la la la
It takes some silence to make sound
It takes a loss before you found it
And it takes a road to go nowhere
It takes a toll to make you care
It takes a hole to make a mountain
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ha la la la la la life is wonderful
Ha la la la la la life is meaningful
Ha la la la la la life is wonderful
Ha la la la la la life it is…so… wonderful
Thought I’d get down to some hippo drawing to make full use of the sudden yet temporary block of free time on hand..

My parents are Taoists. During certain times of the year, they prepare some offerings. Sometimes, my mum makes her own stuff, and I like to complain that she should just buy them because it means less work for her. But she said that some of these stuff (offerings) are no longer sold outside. Religion aside, I think this is something culture-rich as it’s unique to few Chinese religions so not many people get to see especially since it’s no longer commercially produced.
These “stuff” have names, and they come in certain shapes and sizes. One comes in the shape of a turtle. With longevity written all over it. Turtle+longevity=infinite longevity?
So I got some of the self raising dough my mum had for her batch of stuff and started to make my own turtle.
My modern rendition vs the traditional ones:
By the way, the real longevity turtles sold outside aren’t so big and fat-my parents didn’t really grasp control of the dough very well. But I’ve got to give them credits for even attempting to make any of those stuff themselves. It’s really hard because the dough made from self raising flour contracts very easily so it’s really tough to keep it in a certain position, and yet when you really do, it starts to “rise” and fluff up to look pudgy and swollen. (So I’m also pleased with the turtle because I was expecting it to look worse).
I like this picture, the inspiration of my title:
Ok, one more picture of my very cute turtle. Sorry, I can’t help it. Haha.
And yes, in the hurry to steam it, I picked 2 green beans that are of different colours for its eyes.

The first time I played with a film camera.
Even though film cameras were the thing in my childhood days, I’ve never played with a film camera until now, cos it was always the adults who loaded the camera and took the pictures.
Unexpected fun out of it, because I cannot see the effects of what I take until it’s processed.
Don’t think. Just shoot.
Those I like. At places N, L and I first discovered with the very same toy.
I don’t like to be in front of the camera. I like to be behind it. (:

C says I can consider going around with 2 fisheyes attached to my eyes as substitutes for glasses. The fisheye is one of the best things I’ve ever gotten! It’s not a real, pro lens or anything, but it will do. I put it to my camera phone, my family camera, my Holga. Happy happy.
As you can tell, I really love my sneakers.

My friends and I went walking around town one Saturday morning. Random pictures I took which I like.
Macs for starters. I like the blurred background.
We were lucky to have really good weather (read: it didn’t rain but it was really hot).
A very big brush, some Chinese words, and coincidentally, an ang moh.
Wheels. I like the last one best.
Colourful randoms.
More wheels. These were pretty expensive though.
Pretty doe eyes.
Lunch place.
Yum.
I forgot what setting I flipped to, most things had the blueish hues but the strong colours held out-’Central’, ‘9′ and the trees. I like.
It’s listed in the 1000 places to visit before you die. My take: it is beautiful, but not that beautiful.
A not-so-new toy. Hehehe.

Pictures I took at the National Geographic..Shop? with my phone camera. Not pictures of fantastic quality, but I like them all the same so I thought I’d just put them up. Some of these items were up for sale.
Clothes, merchandise and items were up for sale. I like the merchandise, the travel bags, the tees! But they are all too expensive. There were pebble cushions too! So cute, but crazily priced at 300+ for a medium sized one! Else I’d definitely get one to support the research fund. I’m very susceptible to packaging.

It was nice to see all the professional pictures taken by the official photographers of National Geographic. They’re good, and I can’t help thinking how much travel opportunities their jobs have given them. Go have a look in the shop too. (:
