These days, I bring a lil black book everywhere I go, doodling things and places I see on my trips out. Was at school waiting for a friend, and decided to doodle the view where I was seated. Uncompleted because my friend arrived.

Approx. 3 miles from home. Decided to sit at a café. Decided to doodle. A table away, guy reading the papers. Inset, my favourite hot chocie.

The night version of the earlier piece. Again, with watercolour pencils. But I was telling Panda that while doing this piece, I realized the limitations of watercolour pencils and how they can never replace real watercolour. Either way, my watercolouring sucks, so it isn’t even as clear and good as it appears here (if I may say so), which has been quite photoshopped–I tried to keep it as close to the original I did, but filled in the things that the watercolour pencils could not do (which could have been done with real watercolour). For the record, the stars at night are really pretty, which was what inspired me to do the entire painting.

Panda went to the library and got some books by this french guy called Jean-Jacques Sempé. I can’t understand some of the french humour, but still, his comics/drawings are very cute. And detailed. Which I can never have the patience for–details. Very nice indeed. There was a picture which he did that had thousands of people across 2 pages, and there was this lady, accompanied by her son, picking in her bag for something. Such is the level of detail–it wouldn’t have mattered if he had left them out, but he still drew it anyway. And I LOVE it (:

I spent the past few days cooped up relaxing at home (although it was sort of flu/illness-induced) and for the few days, I kept looking outta the windows and thinking to myself how pretty the clouds are and that I should do a doodle of them some time. That shall have to wait. Today, I decided to do a doodle of the view out of the windows. ZeroMilesFromHome Part II? hehe. Too bad that of all days, today had to have no pretty clouds. And I’m not very good at watercolours, as you can see, but it’s a doodle nonetheless.

The view from my kitchen window.
It’s not a complete picture cuz I sorta gave
up after standing for too long juz to doodle.
I said I was lazy (:

Earlier last week, F showed me a website. It’s absolutely gorgeous and Got me REALLL inspired, but the lazy bum in me is reluctant to start my own version of One Mile From Home. Anyway, as I was saying, it’s gorgeous. Makes me envious because the artist is real skilled so it was enjoyable scrolling through her pictures and even better still, she works in the design industry! The inserted picture is one of my personal favourites (I hope I don’t break any copyright rules). I hope wedoodle will one day have the same effect on people like how it has an effect on me |

By coincidence, another sunset doodle, because it seemed like the most apt (of all timings of the day) for this picture. Again, a black pen doodle (also with reference) coloured with photoshop brushes. Again, nothing but brushes. (But I’m not exactly pleased with the results cuz I can’t seem to capture what I imagined well enough). No idea what title I should put.

It’s been some time since I last uploaded a hand-drawn doodle. Here’s two I did on a notebook with a normal ink pen (based on paused scenes of a music video I love). No photoshopping except for lighting levels.
