Everyone, meet Remy. Heh. The show should be near the end of its run in Singapore. I caught the show some time last week and just thought to mention about it here. It’s a VERY VERY NICE show. Pardon me for my lousy vocab (it’s still stuck at a 15 year old’s). I couldn’t tear myself off the screen even when the credits were rolling, because I was wow-ing over the graphics. The details are incredible. The part where Remy and Linguini fall in the drain and get out wet? I was half concentrating on the movie, half thinking WOW how detailed and realistic the wet look was! And of course having a tiny thought at the back of my mind telling me Pixar is Never going to hire me =( Heh. Next thing I know, I was visiting the Ratatouille website and browsing the Concept Art section of the Gallery. Wow. Sigh. Dear director-of-pixar, will you hire me? Pretty please?

Am I a perfectionist? I felt the one I did earlier lacked something, depth, as Frooze confirmed later.. I still feel that way despite editing and re-editing. i stopped here because this is the Furthest I can go in terms of editing what I’ve done to try and reach what I seek (without doing something new, that is). And i Still feel that the girl lacks some depth. Even till now. Frustration max-ed out. Gave up cos it’s taken too much time.
Sorry people, no new pieces till next weekend cos I only have enough time to edit. Spent some time cleaning up some doodles i drew so I can scan them in (minus the rough marks) next week. I can’t wait to start editing them. Wish I have more time on my hands

Time is scarce of late, so I probably won’t be uploading much. Apologies ahead.
Quite some time back, I experimented with some digital art because I was inspired. Am going to post it up here (in case we lose all our readers by the time i have time to complete some of my doodles).
But first, I have not told you guys about this AWESOME guy i mentioned to Mr. Frooze. You can read about him here. He’s Everything I want to be. From being a guy who knows quite a number of languages (he knows German! and those other languages that I want to learn too but aren’t even close to mastering…), to being a great artist doing BOoTiful Art as a JOB. Check out his blog. I take a risk here (you’ll probably never again say wedoodle stuff are good anymore because his pictures are so awesome, the work of a pro) but I just have to share about him. haha. Now I wish my parents migrated to Germany too while I was little. So I’ll learn more than just my mother tongue. And then I would probably have been eligible for the film school too. And probably got a job doing all those awesome art pieces because I Can. Ok, dream on. But I’m realllly envious. Really really really. Can you tell?
Anyway, if you browse his blog, you’ll read about how he can do some of those awesome pieces in a short amount of time ranging from 15 mins to an hour plus. He teaches about speed painting, that’s how it comes back to my inspiration. I tried to do something. Not worth a mention by his standards, not close to Speed painting, and certainly not anything “WOW’. But here goes. A copy of the one I did earlier. That was in pencil, with no digital touch ups (besides tweaking of levels), while this time, I did it entirely digitally with photoshop. Forgot all about it until I was looking through my folders and came across said file: (Click to see the larger version)

In other updates, pig here has finally got a scanner (so it’ll be much easier to work on my doodles) but I’m not sure when I have the chance to update again. Till then!
