A message that came on a rainy day. And this is close to the image that I envisioned reading the message. if I were a creature lover, it might have been heartwarming. I almost felt it. But the snailphobic’s instant reply was “YUCK. remember to wash your hands!!”

I’ve had some days when inspiration struck, from the words that people say to things that I see or feel, and images pop up in my head. But i didn’t put them on paper. So I haven’t been updating. just realised images from my imagination. same root word?

“When I grow up, I want to be an artist”

Picture from someone’s photo reference. I like the “feel”.

Frooze is on his way to realising a dream. And I question what I’m doing because I’m still at the same spot, barely budging towards my dreams except for this website. I follow the practical path, and can’t derive satisfaction. In fact, am getting more dissatisfied thinking about this. Yet there’s no courage to switch because I have no confidence because it is afterall still a paper chasing society, even in that field, and I feel I ain’t good enough. The path is dark and lonely. It’s not like you were taught in primary school. An occupation isn’t as easy as writing on a piece of paper “When I grow up, I want to be an artist”.

Sketches

I spent the morning at Borders flipping art/sketching books for 3 hours. Was inspired to do sketches but didn’t stay out long enough to practise what I read, so I figured I could find reference photographs to start off. We all need some place to start, don’t we?

I don’t know if anyone else thinks the same way. I’m not biased, but caucasians and other races like african americans/indians are, in general and in my opinion only, easier to draw cos they have sharper features. Chinese features are more difficult to draw cos of the flatter features. I would be more convinced of the illustrators for those sketching books if they had drawn some Chinese faces in with the caucasians they drew.

Panda says she’s successfully converted to be a fan. I liked that day in the café. Because we were where we were. No troubles. To me, the best days are spent sleeping and eating. Which was exactly what I did.
